Hi, I have reviewed this document as part of the Operational directorate's ongoing effort to review all IETF documents being processed by the IESG. These comments were written primarily for the benefit of the operational area directors. Document editors and WG chairs should treat these comments just like any other last call comments. This I-D studies the data returned in WHOIS responses. It does not directly impact the operation of the Internet. It shows that publically accessible registry information varies but seems to have a common core. The document likely provides useful background information for the selection of any standards-track object formats. I believe the document is read to be published. Comments: - In section 3, you may want to be explicit when the information was collected, e.g. like below iwth xxx filled in: OLD WHOIS information, including port 43 response and web response data, was collected following the procedures described below. NEW WHOIS information, including port 43 response and web response data, was collected between xxx and xxx following the procedures described below. I think this is important since -00 of the individual I-D appeared in October 2012 and this means the work already spans two years and hence it is unclear when the data was collected. - Not sure what the '4' in the following sentence means: (4) In accordance with the specification 4 of new gTLD applicant guide book [ICANN.AGB-201206] and the Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP) ([RFC5730], [RFC5731], [RFC5732] and [RFC5733]), the response data objects are classified into public and other data objects. /js -- Juergen Schoenwaelder Jacobs University Bremen gGmbH Phone: +49 421 200 3587 Campus Ring 1, 28759 Bremen, Germany Fax: +49 421 200 3103 < http://www.jacobs-university.de/ >
