Hello UPS friends,

Anyone out there who knows how and when we can test our agents for:
IETF SNMP Interoperability Standards Compliance?
(Adam?)

Subject: SNMP Test Summit III
Message-ID: <950217075412_74222.1151_BHT22-1@CompuServe.COM>

Hi Jack!

<<<Anyone out there who knows how and when we can test our agents for:
IETF SNMP Interoperability Standards Compliance?>>>

Following is an e-mail I received 13FEB95 from their mail list
(snmp-test@cavebear.com):

<The SNMP Test Summit III scheduled for March 6-10, 1995 is postponed. We
will wait for the SNMPv2 work to be completed before announcing a new
date.

Attendees at the last Test Summit requested more SNMPv2 tests for future
Summits. While we have completed some tests for areas of the v2
specification that are unlikely to change, we're now at a point where we
need to wait for the final v2 specification before proceeding.

We also believe that a Test Summit held in early March will detract from
the work and effort directed at completing v2, and we definitely want to
support this effort.

Best of luck in Dallas this week and have a Happy Valentine's Day. We'll
be announcing dates for Test Summit III as soon as the v2 work completes.

FYI: On previous messages, they have expressed their intent to have
<functional> tests for UPS agents in the next Test Summit.

Adam Stolinski,

I think there is a need.

Depends on the price and time,
it't always nice to meet all UPS vendors and test the products,
it's also very convenient to do the testing at home (if we have the
equipment).

I cc't this to the IETF mailing group so let's see what my colleagues
are thinking.
