Hello all,

I have a question on what value to return for ifMauType while auto negotiation
is actually happening.
The question only occurs when ifMauAutoNegAdminStatus is enabled.

When ifMauAutoNegConfig is 'complete' its easy, ifMauType is the result of the
auto negotiation.

But when ifMauAutoNegConfig is 'configuring' or some other value, what should
ifMauType be returning?

(1) the same as ifMauDefaultType,
or
(2) unknownMauType OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { 0 0 },
or
(3) whatever it was before this round of auto negotiation started.

Is there a convention on what ifMauType is during autonegotiation.

Thanks for any help
