Motivation for introducing SMTP option in DHCPv6 SMTP address option exists for DHCPv4 but still missing in DHCPv6 options set. Distribution of SMTP IPv6 server address information for routing SMTP messages to a mail server. The SMTP IPv6 addresses are encapsulated into a new DHCPv6 option. The DHCPv6 client should use authenticated DHCPv6. |
