Motivation The Accept header enables negotiation of major MIME types but does not cover MIME type extensions. In particular XML heavily uses extensions. XML namespaces. Example: PIDF (application/pidf+xml). PIDF-LO enables the inclusion of location objects in PIDF. PIDF-LO supports the use of different location object formats (Civil Location Format, GML 3.0, …). Proposal: new parameter for Accept header. Extends semantics of Accept header to language extensions. |
